Agricultural production will play a dual role: Feeding the school community through a sustainable farming program. Training students in modern, organic, and sustainable agricultural practices, preparing them to replicate such models in rural missions fields. Beyond agriculture, vocational enterprises will form a backbone of both training and income generation for the school, ensuring financial sustainability and real-world skill-building. Expanded Agriculture Department: Integrated Farm and Agri-Business Center The Agriculture Department of the Burundi Missions Secondary School will not be limited to small-scale farming activities but will evolve into a comprehensive, large-scale, multi-sector agricultural hub. The goal is to train students to manage diverse farming operations capable of sustaining missions communities, feeding multitudes, generating substantial revenue, and demonstrating biblical stewardship over land and resources. Core Farm Operations The Agricultural Enterprise shall include the following sectors:  Large-Scale Cattle Ranching (Obudu Highlands Focus) Establishment of grass-fed beef cattle ranches in the Obudu Plateau. Dairy cattle units for milk, cheese, yogurt, and butter production. Building ranch facilities: barns, milking parlors, veterinary clinics. Rotational grazing and sustainable pasture management. Veterinary apprenticeship and animal husbandry training for students. Commercial sale of meat and dairy products to markets and cities.  Poultry Production Layers for table eggs and broilers for meat. Hatchery services and organic poultry farming. Chicken processing and cold storage.  Fish Farming (Aquaculture) Commercial catfish and tilapia farming. Earthen and concrete ponds. Training in fish feed formulation and water quality management.  Crop Farming (Food and Cash Crops) Cultivation of cassava, yam, maize, rice, sweet potatoes, cocoyam. Vegetables: okra, pepper, tomatoes, spinach, ugu. Cash crops: cocoa, oil palm, cashew nuts, rubber trees, banana, plantain. Value-added processing: garri, cassava flour, tomato paste.  Goat and Sheep Farming Meat and skin production. Sale of live animals, meat, and leather products.  Pig Farming Hygienic piggeries. Pork production and processing: sausages, bacon, smoked pork.  Bee-Keeping and Honey Production Production of raw organic honey, beeswax, and by-products.  Snail Farming Giant African snail breeding. Snail slime extraction for cosmetics.  Mushroom Farming Commercial oyster and button mushroom cultivation. Value-added mushroom products.  Rabbit Farming Rabbit meat and fur production. Commercial sales and export potential.  Agro-Processing and Food Preservation Rice milling, cassava processing, palm oil milling. Solar drying of vegetables and fruits.  Forest and Agroforestry Programs Timber tree planting and medicinal plant cultivation. Sustainable agroforestry systems.  Horticulture and Floriculture Nursery establishment for flowers and fruit trees. Landscaping and ornamental plant sales.  Training Model Hands-on rotational internships for students. Specialized certificate courses such as “Cattle Ranch Management” and “Agro-Processing Technology.” Business incubation opportunities for student-run farms. Missionary Agricultural Training for rural missions deployment.  Strategic Vision for Obudu and Cross River State Building model mission ranches and farms at Obudu Plateau. Development of satellite farms as missions outreach bases. Becoming a regional supplier of food, energy, and employment, with missions integrated into all operations.
